A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT US.

Hi, we're Jean & Teresa, 2 ordinary women who met each other while looking for a Work from home opportunity. We met when we both signed up to a business opportunity (spending a couple of hundred euro each) that we thought was a franchise. It turned out to be a Multi-Level-Marketing opportunity and not what we had thought at all.

Unfortunately, we didn't know the difference between a franchise and MLM, if we did, we might have made a different decision. We also signed up for some opportunities advertised on the internet, such as Online surveys (only $70!). Having handed over the cash, we found that they didn't really apply in Ireland and we never made that money back.

It took us a long time searching through all of the virtually useless information that was out there to find a business that would work from Ireland.  Most of them are based in America and don't really apply here. We felt that there was a need for good impartial information on what choices are available to Work from Home in Ireland. This is what led us to write the eBook. Here we've each written a brief profile which will give you some further information about us.

We are Jean and Teresa, creators of Work at Home Ireland.  Three years ago we spent hours every week for months researching legitimate work from home opportunities both off-line and on-line.  We signed up to some opportunities  which were scams and visited many websites stating YOU could earn up to €4,000-€8,000 in your first month of business.  We now have a golden rule of thumb for websites making promises of unrealistic earning potential, "if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is".  By creating this work at home e-Book we would like to ensure that you don't make the same costly mistakes in both terms of time and money. 

We are not saying it is easy to start  your work from home business, it's not.  At start-up stage cashflow can be limited and profits can be slow.  It takes your enthusiasm, dedication, perseverance and continued stamina to make this work.  There is no quick fix and at times you will want to give up.  Being your own boss you can either pick yourself up or give up.

Hello my name is Jean and I am now a work at home mother of two young children.  Before I worked at home, I worked for an American Company for over 12 years.  Due to the time difference between Ireland and the U.S.  I started working later and later at night time and did not have enough time with my family. 

I made a decision to quit, which was one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make workwise. I loved my job and had worked my way up in the Company.  I was aware if my job at home did not work out I would yet again have to work my way from the bottom up in another company.

I wasted a lot of time and made some mistakes in the beginning as there are a lot of scams on the internet. I did not know where to find information on work at home opportunities that suited my circumstances. It was not very rewarding, in fact, it was extremely frustrating in the beginning. I had given up work, we only had one income coming in and I was determined to find something that would work for me.

On one of the business opportunities that I invested in, I met a like minded colleague and we became good friends. We made a decision to pool the information we had gathered over the years, on what choices were available to start a work from home business in Ireland. Today I have a better balance between my work at home business and time with my family.

Hi, I'm Teresa. I am the mother of two children, both at school. I had worked for years in an office environment.  When my son was 4 I felt I wanted to spend more time at home with him.  Circumstances allowed me to leave work but after a few years at home with 2 small children, I felt I wasn't achieving anything for myself and went back to work on a part time basis. 

Although this was better, I still wasn't satisfied.  I needed more time at home, but I needed to be occupied too. It was then that I started to think - if only there was another option, something I could do from home that would bring in some income and keep my brain active!

I started looking at the numerous work from home opportunities.  I mainly used the internet as my source. There was so much out there, I didn't know where to start.  Over the years I tried a few with varying levels of success and it was through one of these opportunities that I met Jean. 

Jean and I have become friends and gone on to another business together. We come from different business backgrounds and this helps us greatly in our ventures. I now work part-time and spend the rest of the time on my business. My life is greatly enhanced as a result of this arrangement. I am now able to spend time with my family and don't have the pressures of full time work outside the home.
